The Huntingdon area is part of the beautiful ridge and valley section of south central Pennsylvania. Nearby is 8,000 acre Lake Raystown, a 30 mile-long lake that winds through a narrow valley and is the home of nesting Bald Eagles.
You can find more information about our area by visiting the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau.
The Huntingdon County Arts Council is dedicated to providing art and cultural opportunities in Huntingdon County. Our programs are designed to provide enjoyment and enrichment as well as educational and professional opportunities to the general public, students, amateur, and professional artists.
The Arts Council receives part of its revenue from grants, local governments, and the generosity of its members. Folk College, as many other Arts Council programs, relies on the dedication and hard work of many volunteers from within the organization and the folk music community in central Pennsylvania. We thank all contributors for their support.
The Huntingdon County Arts Council receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
Folk College is a project of Simple Gifts and the Huntingdon County Arts Council. The Huntingdon County Arts Council is supported by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, through its regional funding partnership, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA). State Government funding comes through the annual appropriation by Pennsylvania's General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
Professional development will be offered for school teachers, including Act 48 credit for Pennsylvania teachers.
