Information
Registration and Fees: See the registration form for details. The registration fee includes admission to all workshops and concerts, plus two continental breakfasts. Participants are responsible for lodging and extra meal costs.
Lodging: Most participants choose to stay in a dorm room at Clarion University. The dorm fee is $35 per person for the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights), double occupancy, or $70 for a single room. Basically, just a bed and desk are provided. You need to bring linens, pillow, towel, toiletries, etc. There is no air conditioning, so please plan for the weather and you may want to bring a fan. Hotels in Clarion are the Super 8 (800/800-8000) and the Days Inn (814-226-8682). Both have discounted rates for festival attendees.
Meals: Continental breakfast will be provided on Saturday and Sunday. Lunches are available for purchase at Gemmel Student Center, and most of us eat together there to socialize. For dinner, there are many restaurants within walking distance. Friday night, those who are interested can meet in the lobby to go to dinner with a group.
Scholarships: A limited number of partial scholarships are available in exchange for helping out during the weekend. Contact us for further information.
Location: All activities are held in the Marwick-Boyd Fine Arts Center at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, just off Interstate 80, Exit 64 (old exit 10), in the town of Clarion, located in western Pennsylvania.
Directions from the west: Take I-80, Exit 64 (old exit 10), turn toward Clarion (right from westbound, left from eastbound) on Route 66. Continue for approximately 3 miles. Clarion University will be on the right. Marwick-Boyd Fine Arts Center is a large building next to the road.
Directions from the east: Take I-80, Exit 62 (old exit 9), turn toward Clarion's business district (right from westbound, left from eastbound) on Route 68. Continue for approximately one-half mile. Turn right onto Main Street (Route 322, east). Continue on Main Street through one stoplight. Turn right at the next stoplight onto Eighth Avenue (across from the 7-Eleven). To find Hart Chapel or Founders Hall, turn left at the next stoplight (by Wendy's). To find Marwick-Boyd, continue through the light at Wood Street, and follow the road around the bend onto Greenville Avenue. Marwick Boyd will be the third building on the left next to the road.
Concerts: Staff concerts will be held at 7:00 on Friday and Saturday evenings. Your registration fee includes admission. Others may purchase tickets at the door for $10. The Sunday Student Concert is free and open to the public.
