IFrequently Asked Questions

Here are a few frequently asked questions.

If you have other questions, feel free to contact John Kearns at 814-643-6220 or at johnk@huntingdoncountyarts.com. We are happy to provide you with the answers you need.

Instruments

Can I bring more than one instrument?

Yes, please do.

Is there a safe place to leave my instruments?

We have a locked and staffed instrument storage room that is open at posted times (mostly between workshops). The instrument storage room is located in Von Leibig, one of the two buildings we use for workshops.

Meal Plan

I have gluten/dairy/food issues. Is it possible to get the food I need?

Yes, the Juniata College food service is very used to these requests. Please let us know ahead of time so we can alert their staff.

Dorms

What are the dorms like?
This is your chance to relive your college dorm days. The rooms are standard 2-bed rooms with shared bathrooms on every floor.

Program

My friend/spouse wants to come but not take workshops. What would the charge be?
There is no charge for observers for the workshops. There would be the normal charge for the optional food and dorm. The Friday and Saturday concerts are open to the public and there is a $20 ticket price for each for non-Folk College participants.

Do I have to be in a Folk Band?
No. However, most people say this is one of the best parts of Folk College. We do have a non-performing folk band for those who don’t want to perform onstage but still want the folk band practice experience. And we also have a Beginners Band category.
