A key part of the weekend is the Folk Band, in which participants are assigned to small, band-size groups. Each group rehearses with assistance from a staff coach and has the opportunity to perform in the Sunday afternoon Student Concert. For those who don't feel ready to be in a band, an alternative option "Introduction to Group Playing" will be offered. Once you arrive in Clarion, you'll indicate your preferences for a band. A variety of styles will be offered, including Swing Band, Percussion/Clogging Band, World Music, Blues, Celtic, Fiddle Tunes, and more.
